Weekend links

379846_219677934769287_118046071599141_522855_1102156647_n
a little sneak peek of our session with our friend Christina Heaston last week! More to come.

Happy day before Henry's birthday party to me! Or, happy day of running around doing errands for me. Or even, happy day before I get to see almost all of our loved ones in one place! Either way, it's awesome. Nothing's better than a big together of family and friends who are family, and tomorrow 50-something wonderful people will be filling our house up with celebration and fun. I can't wait.

For now, here are some links to get your weekend started:

My friend Kathryn runs a doggie rescue out of Tempe, AZ called Ruff Road Rescue. I know from first hand experience what an amazing thing Ruff Road is, and they currently have an opportunity to win a web site design and some online services from a large design firm. This would help them out tremendously, so if you have a moment, could you send a vote Ruff Road Rescue's way? It's so simple and literally takes three seconds. Click here, then input your email address (they won't share or spam what you share), and then vote for Ruff Road Rescue. You can vote everyday. Thank you all so much from me, Kathryn, and the pups!

I loved this little peek into Don's creative process of creating Sometimes Sweet's new look!

Dying over Diana's home's facelift.

This poster is the best. And how true it is!

Somehow Kristine manages to make something that would look insanely crazy on me look so darn adorable. Love this little lady's blog!

This is a simple DIY with really adorable results.

Sweet potato hummus! Yum.

I've been seeing some awesome cinemagraphs around the internet lately, and this one over on Justine's blog is awesome.

I really enjoyed reading more about this wedding on one of my fave wedding blogs, The Loveliest Day- and I'm in LOVE with the tattooed lady and man photo props. And what a gorgeous couple!

Hello, beautiful couch!

I love the new look of Erin's blog, and the fact that she calls it her "family journal."

My buddy Kaelah just published her first e-book, and I'm so proud of her.

Hank got to try out Funk Off's newest espresso soap and he's pretty obsessed. Win your own bar on Michelle's blog this week.

These cookie pinwheels look delicious- and so festive!

So many pretty vintage linens!

Have you checked out Chelsey's 50 DIY Days of Christmas yet?

It might be weird to include someone else's links post in your own links post, but Carly always finds the best things! I especially loved this article she included in her round up.

A Mad Men Party? Why oh why isn't Hawaii closer?

And finally, a couple of blogs I'm loving lately: one, two and three!

p.s. The winner of the Cameron Garland portrait giveaway is Chyna Moss! Chyna, go ahead and email me at sometimessweetblog [at] gmail [dot] com to claim your prize.

Happy weekend everyone! Check back in tomorrow for some peeks at Henry's party. xoxo

Friday links to love

happy graduation sissy!

Flashback Friday! I decided that I'm going to start posting some older photos with these posts for fun! This photo is from my sister's college graduation. She played at University of Wyoming on a scholarship and was their goalie. Awesome, huh?!

Anyway, hello everyone and happy Friday! It's not the best of times right now in my little world, but I thought I would pop in and give a little update. One of Hank's best friends lost a family member this week so it's been very sad. It's hard to know your friend is hurting so badly. However I'm so happy that we can all be here for him, and help him through this time.

Right now I'm in the middle of a million posts for some reason- I have about three longer ones half finished in my drafts- so I thought I would take a break and share some links. I hope all of you had the best week.  This weekend I am so excited to see Danny and Janay tie the knot...and on that subject I think this is the seventh wedding we've been to in 2011, which is insane. But unless one of our friends goes and does something spontaneous, I think it's going to be the last of the year.

I hope you all have the best weekend!

-----

I've been reading back in this new-to-me blog - it's full of super fun ideas for mamas of boys! Love it.  It reminds me a lot of my friend Erin.

And while you're checking out blogs, hop over and say hi to one of my most-read blogs, written by one of my favorite people, and Instagram sensation (hahah!). ;)

Smoky Red Bean Chili with Chipotle-Cornbread Dumplings. This looks so, so good.

And speaking of food, I love this: recipes and a shopping list!

Here's a whole bunch of tutorials on getting more volume in your hair. You're welcome.

I'm obsessed with this sweater.

I really enjoyed reading about Katie's favorite beauty products.

Starting this book today! Happy to know that my book soul-mate Lauren already read it and loved it.

These prints would make a great gift for my Italy-loving pal.

DIY bow Mary-Janes. Now these are cute.

I've been on the hunt for a pair of reasonably priced, vintage-inspired earrings for a friend...and I found a few different pairs at one of my sponsor's sites

I enjoyed this video, found via my pal Bruna: 29 Ways to Stay Creative.

Okay I think this Etsy shop is RAD. Vintage maps, and cool ones at that! So many of these would be amazing in Hank's office.

Apple Cider Pancakes. Lord have mercy!

What beautiful photos of the cutest little one.

Are any of you as obsessed with Pinterest as I am?

And finally, some blogs I'm loving this week: one and two.

Happy weekend! xo

Links to love and the THEIT giveaway winner!

my teething baby earlier today. that last picture makes it look like he has a lot of teeth in there, but
right now he just has three- two top and a bottom, all making their way down!

Last Friday I was perusing my Google Reader and it seemed like every post was a Friday links post...and felt like I was just adding it to a massive amount of the same type of thing, so I figured this week I'd share it on Monday. And what's better than starting off a new week with new things to check out, right?

Before I start the sharing, I wanted to let you all know that the winner of the THEIT Bossi camera bag giveaway is...

Happy weekend! (a little update and links)

Friday afternoon, just hanging out with the original Hampton baby

This week fall really arrived up here in the mountains. It's beautiful. Every night it's been getting darker a little earlier, and the chill in the air has got me beyond excited for the season. And speaking of beyond excited, can I tell you how happy I am that the weekend is here? We've just been so busy the past month, and after this weekend the "busy" picks up again, so we are really going to kick back and enjoy a rare family weekend with no obligations. Earlier this morning I took Henry to the high school for the Homecoming Pep Assembly and we had a great time seeing old students and my teacher friends. He was all smiles and especially liked watching the dancers. It was surreal to think that one year ago I attended that very same assembly, but I was 9 months pregnant! Crazy to think how much changes in a year. And then tonight is date night in our house! My two boys are taking me out for dinner followed by a stroll downtown. Maybe if I'm lucky I'll get treated to some coconut tea too!

Tomorrow morning we are heading the pumpkin patch for some good old-fashioned hay-riding and pumpkin-picking! And then the rest of the day is for odds and ends around the house. I want to organize the household randomness above the washer and dryer into some bins, go through Henry's closet and store his 9-12 month clothing that's too small, and finish decorating for fall! I'm sure you wanted to know those details. haha.

I hope whatever you do, you have a fantastic weekend. Happy Friday!

First things first. One of my old school friends way back from junior high and high school was diagnosed with testicular cancer and is undergoing financial hardship trying to pay for everything sans insurance.  Will's girlfriend, Kate, is actually the lady behind For Me, For You (small world, ain't it), and she is doing a fundraiser of sorts that I'd love for you to check out. Both Kate and Will are artists, so they are selling prints to raise money. If you have a moment, please head over their way. Thank you guys so much.

Happy birthday
to one of the sweetest babies ever!

This is absolutely magical.

My girl Diana is starting a new online magazine. Definitely check this out.

Need some seasonal mantel inspiration? Loving Lauren's round-up.

Got a second and want to vote for a cute couple to win a fabulous wedding?

Sarah's blog always makes me smile, and often it's her simple posts that do it the most.

I love all of this- the fall outfits, the kiddos, the bonfire!

Don and Rachel are two of my favorite people in the internet, and I really liked this post about their identity and being a parent.

Loving these camera bags...and stay tuned for something special from them next week! ;)

Gatsby night?  Really? What a cute idea.  Love it.

My current favorite necklace from my favorite Etsy shop. So happy to have discovered these ladies. Adorable and affordable.

Kyla's October inspiration has got me inspired!

Sweet potato hummus. Yes please.

I love Katie's adorable hair bow!

Curious about eating clean but don't know where to start? This book is a good place to begin.

And finally, here's a blog I'm loving this week!

xoxo

Weekend links, odds & ends, and a giveaway winner!

Henry wanted to try his hand at web-chatting on his own! ;)

Today I head off to Las Vegas, but before I hit the road with Anita, I thought I'd share a couple of odds and ends, and some links!  I'm super excited about this weekend and I can't wait to spend some good quality girl time with Anita, Andy, Brittney and Vanessa! I adore these gals and I envision tons of fun over the next couple of days! Feel free to follow along via Twitter or instagram (danihampton) for fun updates.

A couple quick blog-related items:

This is just a note for any of my upcoming sponsors- because I'll be away on the 1st, your ad will go up the evening of Sunday the 2nd. I'll leave them up one extra day next month to make up the difference.

The winner of the Handmade Colectibles $45 shop credit is Jessica West Judkins! Jessica, go ahead and email me at sometimessweetblog @ gmail to claim your prize. Congratulations, and thanks again to all who entered!

Bright Starts was kind enough to send Henry a toy to check out, and although I was under no obligation to blog about it, I really wanted to share how much he loves it!  We got it about a month ago, and at first he wasn't sure what to do with the little pop-ups, but now he totally understands to push them down, then pop them back up again. He loves it. I also think the airplane noises it makes are pretty awesome and I'd highly recommend checking out this toy if you're in the market for a fun cause/effect toy for your child, or as a gift for a little one around Henry's age. Their website is great too, and definitely worth a look.

And now, some links!  I hope all of you have the best weekend - thank of me this weekend as I'm out and about in Vegas. I may pull a slot machine or two, so send me good luck vibes too! ;)

Liz's post has me wanting to pack up and take a little weekend trip to Pinetop, AZ.

I am such a sucker for English Muffins (and butter, yum), that I am absolutely trying out this recipe soon.

Seriously loving all of the details in this baby shower.

This post makes me want to head to the nearest fair immediately! I simply love all of Emily's photos.

And finally, a couple blogs I've been extra-loving lately: one, two and three.

I also want to end with my girl Adele's new video. I just LOVE her!
